Guidelines for contributors to BSS
News:
BSS News is published twice a year,
in March and September
The last deadline for the spring issue
of BSS News is 31st January, 2009.
Earlier submission would be appreciated.
Any contributions of botanical
relevance are welcome.
For example:
1) Reports of field
excursions (leaders please take note) picking out the botanical
highlights.
2) Descriptions and
recommendations of other botanical sites in the U.K. or abroad.
(It might help people to
plan their holidays).
3) Articles of current or
historical interest, including ethno-and archaeobotany.
4) Biographical profiles of
botanists.
5) Botanical poems.
6) Botanical notes, news
items, announcements of future events, reports of
meetings attended,
correspondence, small ads., etc.
7) Book reviews.
8) Crosswords and quizzes.
9) Illustrations: subjects
could include plants, habitats, people, events, or even witty
cartoons if that is your
forte!
For preference copy should be submitted as a Word document and
sent as an email attachment.
Text illustrations should be
line drawings in black ink on white paper.
Cover pictures can be in colour
(paintings, photographic prints or high quality digital images on CD).
If sending digital images by
email, please keep them small, and do not send too many at once.
